DmC: Devil May Cry
The game is set in an alternate reality of the series. The game's story takes place in Limbo City, a modern-day city secretly controlled by all-powerful demons, manipulating humanity through the comforts of life, with the demons themselves residing in a parallel plane called 'Limbo'. Living on the fringes of the brainwashed society is Dante, a young man at odds with the demons who constantly hunt him, and the civilian authorities they control. Dante is warned by a young woman named Kat that he is in danger just as a Hunter demon drags him into Limbo. Dante navigates the Bellevue Pier's carnival and kills the demon with Kat's aid, who can see into Limbo with her psychic powers. Dante returns to the human world and accepts Kat's offer to meet with her boss, Vergil. Along the way, Kat explains that Vergil leads "The Order", a rogue vigilante organisation intent on exposing the demons and releasing the world from their control. Vergil tells Dante that with his help the Order can bring down the demons. Dante learns that he and Vergil are not only long lost twin brothers but also Nephilim, the children of Angel and Demon and the only beings capable of killing the cruel demon king Mundus. Their demon father Sparda was Mundus' chief lieutenant in the war against the angels until he betrayed Mundus when he fell in love with the angel Eva and sired the twins. Mundus, afraid of the Nephilim, attacked the family and killed Eva.

I don't know why this game gets such a bad rep, it's genuinly fun and feels great to play.

If we just ignore the fact that this is supposed to be a DMC game, then it's honestly not a bad game.

Before I played DmC: Devil May Cry, i had a small wee wee, no friends, no girlfriend, depression and absolutely no will to live. None of these things have changed, but the game is pretty good.

Time Saving Tips:
- If you want to make the best time for each mission, be sure to skip ALL cutscenes by pressing the Select/Back button when they trigger. Cutscenes take up total mission time as they play.
- Jumping and angel boosting and air evading can help Dante to move through a stage quicker. Normal running is slower.
Gameplay Tips:
- While up in the air with an enemy, demon pull or angel lift toward the enemy after knocking the enemy away to bring the enemy back to Dante or follow the enemy.
- Dante's Devil Trigger ability is gained in Mission 9 and it causes him to take EXTREME damage with all of his attacks, and he takes a hell of a lot damage with each Arbiter swing at that time, so be sure to use Devil Triggered Arbiter attacks on bigger enemies and bosses to damage them quickly.
- When devil triggered, elemental enemies such as Hell Knights, Frost Knight, Ghost Rages and Blood Rages can all be hit with ANY weapon.
- Drive and Overdrive with Rebellion if a great move to perform against far crowds of enemies. The fully charged version of both can knock a Ravager out of its berserk attacks. Eryx's Stomp is another good move to charge and hit crowds of enemies with. Dante will be up in the air, so he is less likely to get damaged. The Stomp will also knock a Ravager out of a berserk attack.
- Arbiter's Aerial Flush is a great move to hit enemies with when they rage (Tyrant, Butcher, Rage).
- When charged fully, Eryx's Uppercut attack can launch Tyrants and Butchers into the air for air juggles.
- While devil triggered, hit floating enemies with charged Eryx's Showdowns to put some MAJOR hurt on them. The best part about the move is that it will bounce the enemy off the ground, so Dante can perform another charged Showdown over and over to spam damage. This is HIGHLY effective against big enemies (Tyrants and Butchers) and the more annoying enemies (Rages and Dreamrunners).
- Eryx's attacks can be used to counter moves, but the timing is strict. Dante can perform an uppercut to counter a Tyrants air splash attack for example.
- Osiris' Prop is the main attack to reflect projectiles with. Since Dante spins the scythe in place, it has a great change of hitting a projectile without proper timing.
- Turn the camera away from enemies when you want to deal with a certain enemy without others getting involved. So long as an enemy is off-screen, it will not attack unless it started to prepare an attack before the camera was turned.
- If the areas around Dante do not seal off when enemies spawn, Dante might not have to fight those enemies - he can run from them. Sometimes, he must still fight the enemies but not always. Running from a fight is bad for your style rank however.
- Breakable objects can contain both purple orbs and green orbs, so breaking them open is not only useful for obtaining just red orbs.
Style Tips:
- Style is worth the most in point value when it comes to ranking at the end of the stage, so keep this in mind and try not to pass up on any enemy battles in a stage.
- Drive followed by Overdrive can increase the style greatly when performed on a group of enemies.
ENJOY!
