TL;DR:
Don't let the Super Smash Bros. fanboys get you down. The game is VASTLY more polished than you would expect based on the reviews. .
My only genuine complaint is there's not quite as much content as I would like. 7.5/10 with potential.
Listen, I rarely write reviews, but I feel like I owe it to the devs on this one.
My friends and I have been looking for a smash-like. Let's not kid ourselves here, it's what most of us are after if we're here.
We were spurred by the fun we had with Lethal League, but ultimately when LL:Blaze came out, we decided the game had too many shortcomings to invest in a sequel.
After we all spent much too long fanning through the store countless times, I finally doubled my IQ, landing at an even 2, and googled "Super Smash Bros Replacement PC". Bam, this game pops up at like, the #7 spot on some list I don't even care to dig up.
Immediately skeptical seeing as it's "Mixed", and a cautious buyer as it is, I'll be honest in saying that the only reason I picked it up was because it was on sale, and I was desperate.
But it was definitely worth a buy. The fighters feel unique (Though you can normally sum them up by mashing together a few Smash characters, but hey, it's not like Smash INVENTED fighting.) The controls are tight, gameplay feels great, and my friends and I have had a great time.
I typically can't even play singleplayer games, but I've felt compelled enough to do the solo arcade mode.
My only real complaint is that there is a lack of content. There's REALLY only 9 fighters, but they all feel fresh and fun and to their credit; the variants do tweak the gameplay of the original fighter enough to have a place in the game. I just wouldn't call them a separate character.
More importantly I feel, is the lack of map variance. Most of the maps are non-detailed: --___-- Type maps. It is more than okay to have these in the game, , but there is basically no creative map design, and nothing like an editor to do it yourself.
Overall, the game is a 7.5/10, and could easily be a 9/10 with more content.

The best underrated game I've played
It's so underrated that if you read the reviews (most are from 2017 / 2018), they basically say it sucks or it's a terrible smash clone. The "Smash clone" label bothers me because with that logic every shooter should be called a doom clone and every 3D platformer is a Mario 64 clone. It's not fair to call any platform fighter a Smash clone because it stifles innovation on a beautiful underdeveloped genre that Smash created.
It plays fast and floaty, which makes it unique as you don't have to sprint to move fast, even your default walk is quick.
As a whole it has more in common with Smash 64 but with Melee's speed and combat (no shields or throws).
Instead of a smash move you get a rage meter, which if filled half way you can interupt a combo or save yourself from the ledge, while a fully charged rage makes your knockbacks better (the red bar in under the percentage)
Content wise it has about the same as Smash 64; a Trials mode that gets harder the higher you climb the ladder (combat, smash the targets, etc), and a normal arcade where you fight rounds. Both of which you can quit out at anytime and it saves your progress. No adventure mode or subspace emissary, or items though anywhere in the game.
It's a fun low budget title that's surprisingly a lot of fun and a welcome addition to the smash genre.
Basically If you love Smash 64 but with melee's speed, combat and great visuals you'll have a lot of fun.

Super Smash Bros Style Fighting Arena Game
+ The gameplay is a ton of fun. It plays very similar to Super Smash Bros as you battle it out in small 2.5D arenas. If unfamiliar, the goal is to knock your opponent out of the stage. You perform various combat abilities to damage, weaken, and then send the othe player flying. A fair bit of skill is involved as you must time your attacks and dodges.
+ 6 Great looking characters all with their own unique moveset and abilities.
+ Visually the game looks gorgeous with 5 detailed maps, characters, and animations.
+ Online multiplayer
+ Controls are very similar to smash while using a controller, so it's easy to learn.
This game is in Early Access so these are subject to change
- You can't add bots to private online matches (I really wanted to do a team 2v2 players vs bots)
- Quick Play and Ranked are limited to 1v1 matches (I hope they expand this in the future, it would be nice to join full games of 4 players)
- Currently a bit low in content. (They plan to add a story mode, challenges, addional characters, and more during Early Access)

Pros:
Movement is tight and responsive
Combat, for the most part, is great and rewarding
Runs great on a shit pc and graphics look beyond decent in lowest settings
It's just plain fun, you can spend hours just practicing you favorite character and get some cosmetic items in return
The community in discord is super open and willing to teach new players the basics and train with you
Weekly tournaments which you can join to test your skills at the game
Developers listen to the community and are actively developing for the game
Did I already mention the amazing community? God, I got to play with 2 out of the top 3 players in the world and get my ass handed to me and they gave me tips all throught. In how many games can you have that happen as a newcomer?
Cons:
Online is peer to peer so matches can get choppy if both players don't have a good connection
Character variation is pretty lacking, its 9 characters if we're being honest
A.I. is pretty bad and you can't really train with it, after 7 hours 3 stocking cpu 9 is fairly simple.
If you do want to train against skilled oponents, you have to coordinate in the discord with someone who is available and many times no one is available.
tl;dr: Movement and Combat are tight and responsive, kills are satisfying and combos challenging but rewarding. Native online play is dead, but there is a great community on discord with players much better than you willing to jump in and teach you how to play.
If you want a fun smash-like for offline play with friends, a competitive smash-like or just simply want to do cray combos on some poor bots, this is an amazing game.

Like smash but not quite as fun. Still pretty cool to see random indie game characters come together.
