This game has received a lot of hate regarding how the gameplay is nothing like the original Aragami, so the devs being as awesome as they are made a classic mode that makes the game as close to the original game as possible. on the mission board before you start a mission you can change between normal and classic mode.
I wasn't going to make a review until i beat the game but when this update came out I knew I had to make one, this game is a great sequel with evolved gameplay, better level design, better movement, more collectibles, and more skills then Aragami 1, although it can get repetitive at times with playing the same 10 missions with different objectives over and over again. I 100% recommend this game to anyone who are interested in ninja games and that goes for aragami 1 as well.

Aragami 2 is quite the fun game frowned upon by its veterans. How frowned on? Well view it like this. Aragami 1 is Splinter Cell (Not Chaos Theory) while Aragami 2 is Splinter Cell Blacklist. Both are not bad games however are viewed in different spotlights and appeal to different audience. Aragami 1 is more hardcore and is a Puzzle Stealth game while Aragami 2 is a Stealth Action game. If you're a casual gamer and can accept indie game jank, you will have a good time (This goes double for co-op. Terms of Bugs and Fun). Personally I enjoy it greatly and getting S ranks with No Alerts and Kills is my addiction.

"Aragami" = "Splinter Cell"
"Aragami 2" = "Splinter Cell: Blacklist"

Move or die, it's your choice, I'm just a shadow... a deadly shadow, and I follow every single one of your moves.
'Tenchu' Wrath of heaven or divine punishment, although the first use of the term in history remains quite unclear to me, I am a big fan of the classic 'Hitokiri movie and Tenchu game franchise, such a big fan that it is the most appropriate name to give to my maine c00n.
The styles and moods that these titles bring are both very intriguing and mysterious.
'Aragami 2' gave me this great entertainment experience again.
Deadly Gameplay:
I never played the first Aragami game, so it's hard for me to compare or point out improvements, but I played at 3840*1080 resolution and the image was surprisingly good.
The third person gameplay and visual styles in the environments fit nicely into ultra wide resolutions like this one, you can see an example of this in this video:

Steam really needs a neutral option for recommending games. I played through this game co-op with a friend of mine and overall I would say we had a good time and the game was worth but, but my god I can't ignore the various bugs that just insisted on screwing up our experience. As a stealth game it performs alright, nothing revolutionary but not bad.
The main problems come from two big issues.
The first is the bugs that cause the game to just randomly not perform correctly, and i'm not even talking the desync between host / co-op partner. Sometimes you use abilities and they just fail. Throw your sword at a guy and teleport to him to execute him instantly? nah instead you just did an uncontrollable regular swipe and now he and everyone in range sees you and is pissed. Trying to distract a guard with your whisper ability? sometimes it just goes on cooldown and nothing else. Turn invisible to get in close to a guy and give him the stabbing? Invisibility just decides it isn't working today. The fact that the skills can so regularly break is frustrating at best, and actively killed our play some nights simply because we got too fed up with a given stage.
Then there are the items. You gather a pitiful flow of money through the game which can be used primarily on cosmetics and dyes for your outfit, but also for modifiers runes and consumable equipments (throwing knives, damage amps, healing items) But they are all worthless. The rune effects are lackluster at best. Attack boosts when fully stacked won't give you a breakpoint to even kill an enemy one swing faster, and defense is pointless thanks to stun locking by some later mob. The only rune effects that 'do' anything are essentially stamina recharge so you can run around more.
The consumable equipment is even worse, costing exorbitant prices per usage. To kill an enemy at range requires a kunai, of which you can only hold 3, and they cost 200 gold per. Problem is even at late game most stages are only worth around 600-800 gold. So you can blow your payment for the mission to kill 3 people. In stages with upwards of 60-70 enemies. Or you can buy things like portals to warp back to town quicker at the end of the mission. That will run you 900 gold to buy, keeping in mind you won't even make that much.
For this game to really earn a recommend, it desperately needs the bugs to be fixed, nearly 3 months on and this is just not acceptable. Second, for the sake of the game just being at all satisfying or fun, the consumable items need a serious look at. If I spent a boatload of money but the items were restocked every stage and I could screw around with em? sure that could be fun. If the items were dirt cheap and using them was just a minor fee, I could accept it. But the idea that you blow nearly 2 stages worth of funds to accomplish nothing? That is just a bad joke.
It's a shame really, I pushed a friend of mine to get this game because of how much I enjoyed the first Aragami and the fact that this game was so.... frustrating more often than fun is just really not a good feel for the game. It wasn't out right offensively bad, so I wouldn't say folks who like stealth games should not get it, but if you aren't explicitly a fan of the style of game, I would never recommend this to most of my friends.
