“Blood for blood. That which is taken shall be returned.”
Leap into the story of ruin a dead king has brought. Will you aid the herald? Who is the lady in the forest? Where are the jester’s pants? The retort from your war hammer will answer.
–
Keeper of this unremembered refuge, a blood debt incurred long ago is to be collected by Kerr, Breaker of Worlds. Summoned from humanity’s desperation, you are all that stands between Cadmeia and its annihilation. Find and seize the blood memories of old, lest those that intend suffering and harm unending should wield them.
–
Quick tips:
· Mat farming is necessary. Try to remember enemy drops.
· In tough situations grab what you need and warp out.
· Chime pieces may reveal a hint at boss vulnerability.
· Be deliberate and measure your attacks. This is not your high-speed hack ‘n slash, and button mashing will get you killed.
· Find a weapon type and weapon move set that is best for you.
· Learn how to parry and counter attack. This will give you an advantage.

Finally finished this game! it took me some time...
I played a first playthrough (i went pretty far and played more than 16 hours on this 1st playthrough) that i didn't finished at the time for some reasons that i forgot but i always wanted to get back to it as i really liked it the first time.
And now after roughly 18 hours, i finally made it, yay!
Ok so this is totally a Soulslike, in every aspects. A good one according to me.
The GOOD stuff
+ NPC's tell you the minimum and it's all a bit cryptic. Lore is mostly in the items descriptions, i like that you have to figure out things on your own
+ The level designed is at the same time pretty linear but it can also be maze-like and it's always good to explore.
+ There´s some quests and puzzles for hidden bosses and they're rewarding
+ Combat is rough in the beginning but when you get the feeling of it (and a good weapon that you like), then it's getting much better. It's actually quite accurate with the dodges and parry.
+ It's tough! oh damn it's tough and challenging. But in a good way. The same technique can not be applied to all bosses and ennemies so you have to adapt. I like that
+ Atmosphere works great, music and sound effects too. The weapons feel so impactfull and heavy, same as armor and every fighting sounds. I LOVE the sound design here!
+ Good length, about 20 hours with hidden bosses and exploration
The MEH or BAD
- A couple of bugs like a boss' second phase not launching, memories (the souls of this game) dissapearing from the battlefield after i died...but nothing too serious
- The stats or levelling does not seem to have any impact on the damage done or received. It looks like numbers (big numbers sometimes) that have close to 0 effect on the gameplay. At least that's my feeling
To sum it up i LOVED Animus Revenant ! I had fun all the way through.
I played the 2 previous Animus game, first one of mobile and Animus Harbinger on Switch and this one is definitely better and this time they got it right.
I'm looking forward to start NG+
ps: big thanks to the guy named weArEuS on Youtube for his playthrough that helped me finding 2 of the hidden bosses that i missed

Excellent top down soul like game! Can't remember such games, they are usually all from the third person view. Although the controls cannot be changed, it is pretty good. It is a pity that so few people play, I would like some multiplayer experience!
Recorded some gameplay:

My experience so far with the game, it's my first time playing a "Souls-like"
My specs :
Win10
AMD r9 5900x
RX 580 8gb
NO fps issues, i feel the game is well optimized. works perfectly for me.
Gameplay : Fluid
Controls (controller) works fine but i don't feel i'm in control some combos are way too long and are more of a liability than of help against bosses.
First 3-4 bosses easy then you hit a big wall, the Boss in plate, basically the game tells hey it's time to farm unreliable mats/resources.
Other than that no bugs, maybe i am a complete noob but i don't feel they try to help me even a little with moving forward.
- A map of the zones would be nice too
I recommend, yes because i will continue playing.
The game is really good i'm just bad at it, the wall i hit will certainly be surmountable by an experience Souls player.
PS : I wouldn't mind any tips if you have :)
Cheers

I've played it on my switch and now I've gotten it on my steam account.
I was actually surprised with this game. It's actually a great game. Been playing for a couple of days and it took me a while to figure out how to level up. But after getting used to the controls it's turning out to be better than I anticipated. It's a hidden gem.
