So its a pretty clear knockoff of Monster Rancher turned into a somewhat simplified roguelike with cute monster girls standing in for breeds from monster ranches (i.e Shiba Inus are blatantl derived from Tigers and have the same lightning moves, the whales are obviously inspired by Zillas, the slimes share several moves with Jells etc).
But honestly as someone who was massively nostalgic for monster rancher 2, then tried to play it recently and was like "I aint got time for that shit", I liked this game a lot. The fact its a roguelike means you aren't grinding and farming the way you would in MR2, fusion and train spamming monsters, you're trying to get stats and powers ups ASAP and thats actually more strategic. Also my time of 13.9hrs is pretty much how long it too me to 100% the game, but it would have been longer if I was less familair with monster rancher.
So tldr: if you think something like Monster Rancher might make a good Roguelike, or you didnt like the empahsis on grinding in monster rancher, theres a fair chance you'll like this game. Unless you only like MR for that CD gimmick or something
